Glycerine Purification By Activated Carbon

Glycerine Purification By Activated Carbon

Glycerin is widely used in the manufacturing of chemicals, food products and cosmetics. It's obtained from vegetable and animal oils and fats and it typically use activated carbon products to remove color, odor constituents, and other contaminants. YICARB has engineered a large product portfolio including both granular activated carbons and powdered activated carbons for our customers to choose.

Advantages of YICARB Carbon for Glycerine

It's long been proved that activated carbon can effectively remove both color and odor contaminants when purifying glycerin. Activated carbon can be used at various stage of glycerine production. In the primary stage of crude glycerine purification, activated carbons are used to reduce bulk color and fatty acids. In the final stages of purification,  which is commonly referred to as bleaching, granular and powdered activated carbons are used to remove the trace color and order.
